Wonderfest Convention

Wonderfest Convention – May 31-Jun 1

The Collective made its annual trek to attend Wonderfest in Louisville KY. This year’s model contest was recording breaking, again. We took hundreds of pictures which we will be posting shortly. We also attended Sci-Fi U and learned more tips and tricks from other experienced modelers. We attended workshops, panels and more, there was too much to do and not enough hours. We look forward to next year’s convention!

Star Trek Starships

This brand new collection of model Star Trek starships includes all the most significant vessels from all five Star Trek TV series, including dozens of ships that have never been produced before. Each ship has been painstakingly recreated in die-cast metal and high quality ABS and then painted by hand. Each model also comes with a special collector’s magazine.

Modeling Tip

Wet-Dry sandpaper

Wet Sanding: Some sandpaper can be used wet or dry. These are particularly useful after you apply your primer coat. You will not want to dry sand after the primer coat is applied because it will remove the primer paint. By wetting the sandpaper or surface before sanding, it is possible to get smoother results without removing the paint. This method also reduces the amount of dust kicked up into your face.
